History of the Knights
Founded in 1882 in New Haven, Connecticut by the Blessed Michael J. McGivney, the Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic fraternal service organization named in honor of Christopher Columbus. Referred to as the “strong right arm of the Church” by Pope John Paul II, the Knights serve our parishes, schools, and community through charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.

History of Our Council
On June 27th, 1997, led by Monsingor Jeffrey Ingham, 33 men assembled to form the Knights of Columbus Council 12025 in Raleigh, NC at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Because of the combination of our council numbers, we are often referred to as the “Christmas Council”. Since the beginning, our council has worked closely with the parish, school and community in a multitude of ways. Each year we participate in and support events such as Breakfast With Santa, The Muli-Cultural Festival, fish fries, pancake breakfasts, assisting with service projects at the parish and school and helping the Pastor with any requests to help improve the grounds, facilities, and parishioner involvement.
