John Thelen has been honored as Our Lady of Lourdes Council 12025’s Knight of the Month for March 2025. He was recognized for his active involvement since becoming a Knight in 2016. He has served in various roles, including Warden and Deputy Grand Knight, and currently leads the fish fry team where he has been instrumental in modernizing the fryers. John actively participates in council events, such as pancake breakfasts where he mans the “scrambled egg station”. John follows a family tradition of being a Knight. He is married to Allison and has three grown sons. Congratulations Brother John Thelen!
What do you do on a Friday during March Madness and Lent? You fire up the big screen and enjoy some Fish Madness, of course!
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to join in the fun! We also had a special celebration—Happy Birthday to Brother John! And a big congratulations to Beth, the woman who pushed our band of Brothers beyond our comfort zone and brought some flair to the game. We were honored to award her an Honorary Knight membership—well deserved! Lastly, a big shoutout to Austin and his crew of OLL 8th graders for all their hard work. Fantastic job, everyone!
Big things happening in the Council last night!! SEVEN men became Knights pledging vows of charity, unity and fraternity. Congratulations to Brothers Jeremy, Jack, John (Jack), our Seminarian- Ben, Dwayne, Ric, and Ian! State, Regional and District officers were on hand for the ceremony AND to present the Council with our DOUBLE STAR COUNCIL award. Thanks to ALL the Brothers who came out for this very special evening.
From the early set-up crew to the clean-up crew, it took a village to pull this one off. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it happen.
Congratulations to Thomas Enzweiler for being elected Knight of the Month for February. Although Tom just became a Knight one year ago and is one of our youngest Knights, he has been one of our most active members. He became an officer and is our current Outside Guard. He regularly attends the Officer and Directors meetings, checks membership cards for authenticity, and assists the Grand Knight. He has participated in many of our functions including a Fish Fry, lunch after the 11:30 Mass, A Day for Him breakfast, the 70th Anniversary Picnic and the Catholic School Week breakfast. He is a member of the Adoration Team. He has assisted with the Halloween Trunk or Treat and Keep Christ in Christmas programs as well. He is married to Megan and has four beautiful children. He is truly the Catholic gentleman that we all strive to be. Way to go Brother Tom!
The Knights were well represented at the NC Down Syndrome Alliance’s Gala. What a wonderful group of people doing amazing work!
We had strong representation for our Membership Drive this weekend. Thanks, Brothers! Thanks also to Fr. Pat and Deacon Brad for not only supporting the Knights but also BEING Knights. With that kind of leadership, how can we fail?
Proud to report that 5 brave Knights overcame the remnants of Snowpacolype 2025, to Plunge into the freezing waters of Heritage Lake Pool. We raised over $3,000 for Special Olympics, winning us the Top Fundraising Team award. Brother John Schultz was also recognized for being the Top Individual Donor. Great job by the Wake Forest Police dept, who hosted the event.
A sure sign that Spring is near! Hope to see you there!
The February turnout was HUGE! Not to brag but we were presented with the Unity Award by our Regional and District Deputies. Big thanks to John for handling the Recorder duties while Brother Stephen was recovering. Heal quickly Brother! Thanks also to Dan, Tom and Pablo for helping with checking cards and handling the raffles. So many other Brothers to thank but suffice it to say.. Great job Council #12025.
