We had strong representation for our Membership Drive this weekend. Thanks, Brothers! Thanks also to Fr. Pat and Deacon Brad for not only supporting the Knights but also BEING Knights. With that kind of leadership, how can we fail?
Proud to report that 5 brave Knights overcame the remnants of Snowpacolype 2025, to Plunge into the freezing waters of Heritage Lake Pool. We raised over $3,000 for Special Olympics, winning us the Top Fundraising Team award. Brother John Schultz was also recognized for being the Top Individual Donor. Great job by the Wake Forest Police dept, who hosted the event.
A sure sign that Spring is near! Hope to see you there!
The February turnout was HUGE! Not to brag but we were presented with the Unity Award by our Regional and District Deputies. Big thanks to John for handling the Recorder duties while Brother Stephen was recovering. Heal quickly Brother! Thanks also to Dan, Tom and Pablo for helping with checking cards and handling the raffles. So many other Brothers to thank but suffice it to say.. Great job Council #12025.
Paul is a 75-year-old with 39 years of continuous service to the Knights of Columbus. He is an Honorary Life member. He towers over most of his brothers but is truly a gentle giant. He has been with our Council for about 4 years but has been an incredible addition to our crew. He has become our Executive Chef for most events that involve cooking. He has prepared pancakes for over 300 people and makes it look easy. He has brought tray after tray of delicious desserts for several Knights functions. His leadership in the kitchen has taken us out of our comfort zone and has made the Council shine. He is a loving husband and never seeks praise. He attends all our Exemplification Ceremonies to support new Knights and is a joy to everyone he meets. He is a regular fixture at our business meetings and is involved in many of our programs. He is active with OLL School and has assisted with judging the Science Fair as well as the Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest. We would like to honor him by making him our very first Knight of the Month. God bless you and Vivat Jesus!
Congratulations to OLL School. They are celebrating another year of providing outstanding Catholic education during Catholic School Week. We cooked up a big pancake breakfast. The GK’s family donated some additional wonderful treats. Big thanks to them! Sorry there are fewer pictures of the humongous crowd and line going out the door, I was busy in the kitchen.
Wonderful experience at the March for Life in Washington DC. Thanks to fellow Knights John A. and his GK Steve, from Council 9880 for organizing the bus trip. Several different Raleigh parishes and Councils were represented. Many pro-life politicians also attended. They also mentioned taking care of the mother and child after the birth as well. OLL Knights support Birthchoice, Walking with Mom’s in Need, and a Note in the Pocket just to name a few great organizations.
We just wanted to give a big shout out to Dennys on Wake Forest Rd in Raleigh! They have the BEST comfort food in town and have supported our pancake breakfast for many, many years. Please give them your LOVE!
Council #12025 will be experiencing some chilly “Knights” ahead! Please join our team, come cheer us on, or consider donating to this worthy cause.. All proceeds will go to the NC Special Olympics.
